The genetic background of our males is as important as the actual appearance of the males. Much time has been spent researching the bloodlines of stock available in NZ and Australia and then visiting studs to examine potential sires, their sires, dams and offspring of these sires and dams.

We are fortunate to be co-owners with Russell and Carolyn Nelson of Homestead Farm Alpaca Stud in Ashburton, of two stud males that we believe will contribute to achieving our targets for both huacaya and suri.

Both of our sires come from the Cedar House Alpaca Stud in New South Wales and we are very appreciative of Wendy Billington and Peter Sultan for the time they have spent with us over the past several years and the openness that they have shown in disclosing performance information on all their stock.

Both stud males - Cedar House Woolmaker 2 (huacaya) and Cedar House Prince of Stars (suri) will normally stand at stud at Homestead Farm. Please see our links page for contact details.
